About Us

The Federation of Green Parties of the Americas (FGPA) is an international organization that brings together the Ecologists Greens political organizations in the Americas. It was officially incorporated on December 2, 1997 in Mexico City and ratified Bela Island, Brazil in March 1998. With the participation of Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, United States, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru and Venezuela, Argentina and the Dominican Republic.

The Federation encourages the formation of Green Parties Ecologists in all countries throughout the Americas, as a way to participate from across government in solving environmental problems. Federation members work together to strengthen efforts to promote the development of a humanity that is able to live in harmony with nature, based on the principles of love, justice and freedom.

The Federation of Green Parties of the Americas participated actively in the Global Green movement, composed of all the world's Ecologist Green Parties, grouped into federations in Africa, Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe. Members of the Global Green aspire to the creation of a global ecological society that is able to harmonize the economic, social, political and cultural with the natural environment.
